Family First.
I am passionate about cooking and travel. I have served as a board member on the All City CU Board, WA State LEOFF Education Association as secretary, WA Municipal Clerk's Association as a board member, and Snohomish County Juvenile Diversion Program in Lynnwood.

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?
In my 30-plus years as a member of combined credit unions, I have come to appreciate the products and services the CU offers its members. The depth of my cu experience as a Board Member allows me to contribute to the Board's work positively. I have practical knowledge of important aspects of a Board's responsibility to ensure the safety and soundness of the organization. I want to bring my knowledge and experience to help ensure that the NW Plus CU continues to provide its members with up-to-date, convenient services that meet their everyday financial needs. I am also passionate about promoting more diversification and the under-40 age group within our membership as they are the future of our credit union.

STRENGTHS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
I was recruited to the Supervisory Committee at All City CU. Later, I became a Board Member, and I was Board Chair for ten years. I was Chair when All City CU merged with NW Plus CU. My experience at All City CU enabled me to become well-versed in many areas of the CU arena. My strongest strength is my commitment to the CU philosophy. I read all of the packet information and am prepared for each meeting. Fortitude is a strength I am proud of. My experience working tor the City for 35 years has prepared me for multi-factor decision-making. I am also very tenacious. I like to know all of the facts before making decisions. Even though, as an Emeritus, I could not vote. My input was respected. When I was at All City cu for years, they elected their Board Members at the Annual meeting. That never seemed fair to the entire membership. Finally, we developed an election process that allowed all members to vote. That was one of my goals for the membership of NW Plus CU, and it was met last year.

I was also Instrumental In organizing City of Lynnwood, AFSME LOCAL3035 COUNCIL 2 and served as their first president until retirement.

1997 I received the Clerk of the Year from the WA Municipal Clerk's Association

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
My name is Linda Alvar and I have been involved in the credit union movement since the 1980's. I was Board Chair when All City CU merged with NW Plus CU ten years ago. I became an Emeritus member as a result of the merger. Last year, when a Board member chose to retire, I was appointed by the Board for a one-year term. The one-year term that I was assigned will expire in March. I have decided to seek reelection for a 3-year term.
My experience at All City CU enabled me to become well-versed in many areas of the CU arena. My strength is my commitment to the CU philosophy. I read all of the packet information and am prepared for each meeting. Fortitude is a strength I am proud of. My experience working for the City of Lynnwood for 35 years prepared me for multi-factor decision-making. I am very tenacious. I like to know all of the facts before making decisions. I am dedicated to expanding our membership to the underserved and under-40 age bracket, as they are the credit union's future.

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?
I am interested in seeing that Northwest Plus Credit Union continues to have a lasting presence in our community. Our community benefits from having a strong local credit union that supports its members in achieving their financial goals through continuing to offer home loans and savings products with better rates than larger banks. I have been a member of NW Plus Credit Union for more than twenty years and have consistently enjoyed the personal touch that the long-term employees give when I go into my local branch. Being able to have a relationship with the knowledgeable and friendly staff has enabled me to feel good about referring my friends and clients. I would like to do what I can to ensure the level of service and quality are there for years to come.

STRENGTHS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
As a former Project Manager I enjoy working with groups of people to analyze and problem solve. As a realtor and real estate investor I have access to and engage with many banks throughout the valley and in Western Washington. I often get firsthand information from my clients about what they like about or don't like about their lender/bank

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
I have enjoyed being a member of NW Plus Credit Union since January of 2000. I opened an account when I went to work for GTE and have never looked back. Times and jobs have changed, but NW Plus has continued to offer the same great service it did back in 2000. Through my work as a business owner, real estate investor and realtor over the past ten years, I regularly see the inferior offerings and service being provided at other banks and lending institutions. I would like to do what I can to ensure that NW Plus Credit Union continues to maintain a strong presence in my community for both my family and my clients.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
As a member of the NW+ Credit Union I am interested in serving on the Board of Directors. I believe we all should have some input, in writing or verbally, in how financial boards manage their financial investments. As an officer in the US Army, I learned early in my career, not only to give direction to my staff but to also listen to what they had to say. No one person has all the answers. While working with the parents of school age children, we had to balance the importance of the education we were providing with how the parents could help achieve both their educational and social growth. As a Financial Management instructor my responsibility to my business goals and personal financial goals have always been very important to me. No matter what jobs we have or have had, our responsibility is not only to get our job done, but to insure the well-being of the people we work with. In both business and as a parent we learned that not everything we want, we get. We must pick our battles in order to develop the future leaders of our organizations and our country. The same is true with the men and women we work with. Who will replace us when you leave? We want to ·nurture and educate our staff. We must also safeguard our members' financial investment within the NW+ Credit Union.

My wife and I have been married for 54 years and have together raised two fine boys. One of our sons is a District Manager for UPS in their fraud investigation department. Our other son is the Chief of Police of a major WA city.

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?
I am interested in joining the board to become involved in this institution that I have been a part of for over 30 years. I became a member during the All City Credit Union years. This is yet another way I can give back to my community and devote my time and expertise. Being on the board affords me the opportunity to become knowledgeable and involved with the CU operations and assist in its success. I believe being involved at the board level gives me an opportunity to inform the direction and provide strategy to keep us successful. Working alongside like-minded professionals is rewarding and enjoyable.

STRENGTHS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
I bring a strong sense of service, pride, and commitment to the organizations I join. I have been in public service my entire career working within multiple diverse groups and teams within my organization and throughout the community. My experience and education have been centered on managing organizations and working within a municipal government. However this experience has broad reach into many areas of business. I have several years of managing a department budget and with that, the responsibility of reporting financial and personnel matters to a board (council) of elected officials. The teams I have worked on within that structure have developed budget strategies, prioritized programs, and established direction for the organization. This level of teamwork involves listening to stakeholders and being transparent and accountable, much of what I believe is involved with this board. I have a very tech-savvy lifestyle and enjoy a high level of competency with digital applications and the on-line world.

Outside of work, I volunteer my time having served on multiple committees and executive boards for HOA's, professional affiliations, and fraternal organizations. Currently I am active with our local Elks Lodge #479 and serve as the training committee chair for the Washington State Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates.

CANDIDATE STATEMENT
I am passionate about financial well-being and community involvement which is why I am excited about being considered for the board of directors. With a background in working with municipal budgets and a commitment to transparent governance, I bring a strategic mindset to drive growth and member satisfaction. I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every member's voice is heard. As a board member, I aim to advocate for innovative solutions and digital transformation that empowers our members to make informed financial decisions. Together we can build a credit union that not only meets the challenges of today but the needs of tomorrow. I am eager to contribute my skills, passion, and experience to the success and resilience of our credit union and its members.
