Carolyn A. Brooks
Carolyn A. Brooks Carolyn A. Brooks currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Securityplus Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. She has served in this position multiple times. She has been a volunteer at Securityplus for 50 years. Carolyn is labeled as a dedicated volunteer extraordinaire. She has been a volunteer at Securityplus through its incarnation (SSA Baltimore Federal Credit Union) since 1971. During her 50 years as a volunteer she has held multiple Board positions such as President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary, Committee Chairperson Positions and two decades of service on the Supervisory Committee (SC). For approximately twenty-years she served as the Chair of the SC.

Carolyn is an avid church member who loves the Lord and loves to serve people. Currently, Carolyn serves as the Financial Chairwoman of her church. She also, assumes the roles of a Lay Speaker, Council Chair and a member of the Board of Trustees. She retired from the Social Security Administration after 37 1/2 years of service. She has a BA and MA degree in mathematics. In 2018 she was inducted in the African American Credit Union Hall of Fame.

Carolyn is a Diamond Life Member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (DST) where she became a member at Hampton Institute in 1966.

 
Barbara G. Cuffie
Barbara G. Cuffie Barbara G. Cuffie - CISSP - (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) retired from the Social Security Administration after a 37.5 year career primarily in the Office of Systems where she served as its principal security officer. She is a graduate of Norfolk State University and did graduate studies at both Coppin State University and St Mary's Seminary. She is a widow with four children, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Barbara joined Securityplus in 1967, and it has remained her primary financial institution since she became a member. She currently serves as a Director of Securityplus and is the Chairperson of the Policy Governance Committee. She is currently the Secretary of the Securityplus Board of Directors and has served in every executive position on the Board of Directors during her tenure on the Board except as the Treasurer. Barbara has also chaired every committee of the Board except the Asset, Liability and Management (ALM) Committee, which is chaired by the Board's treasurer.

Barbara has a wealth of experience serving on boards and/or in leadership positions for a myriad of different organizations. She serves on the Board of her local church and has served as an elected member of her denomination's national governing board for a 5-year term. For over a decade, she has served as the president of Chapter 1936 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association. Barbara is also a board member of the Maryland Federation of NARFE Chapters. She currently chairs the Securityplus Governance Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee as well.

She considers this a time when she is blessed to be able to give back as a volunteer in many areas of interest. She loves competing in bridge tournaments as a life master and has been playing bridge competitively for several decades. Since the pandemic, she competes in bridge games online and does a great deal of her volunteer activities online or in virtual meetings. She has taught bridge classes, and served as the president of local bridge clubs before becoming the current president of the Baltimore Congress of Bridge Clubs. She is also an active member of her Baltimore City neighborhood association and the Samuel L. Banks Chapter of the Association for the Study of African American Life and Culture.

 
Lester C. Facey
Lester  C. Facey Lester C. Facey, Ph.D. is seeking a first term on the Securityplus Board of Directors as a full fledge Director. He is currently serving as an Associate Director on the Securityplus Board of Directors. Dr. Facey has been employed at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in various positions since 2008 and is currently the National Program Manager for the agency's Hispanic Employment Program. In addition, Dr. Facey is Associate Graduate Faculty at Towson University (Maryland) teaching Environmental Policy & Sustainable Management since 2010. in 2016, Dr. Facey was selected as an Embassy Science Fellow; a partnership between the U.S. State Department and U.S. EPA. As a fellow, he was stationed in Togo (West Africa) to assess Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) education in primary and secondary schools throughout the country. Dr. Facey is an international environmental political economist who received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science (concentration in environmental policy and democratic processes) from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (Syracuse, N.Y.). He also holds a Master of Science degree in Earth Science from Adelphi University, with a certificate in environmental management (Garden City, NY), and a Bachelor of Science degree (biology) from Manhattan College (Bronx, NY).
 
Erica Mejias
Erica  Mejias Erica Mejias has thrown her hat into the ring to run for the Board of Directors. She believes an individual should have an in-depth understanding of the operations, management, financing and marketing of the business and most importantly its members (You!); and Erica brings all of this to the table. Her experience working in a not-for-profit, a for-profit and a government agency has broaden her understanding of the complexities of being a successful business. Prior to becoming a Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security Administration (SSA), Erica was a Social Worker. She has over 10 years of experience helping solve problems creatively with individuals of all backgrounds. Erica has served in the board of directors for the Woman's Affairs Advisory Council and Toastmasters serving in different roles. Erica wants to help find long term solutions to issues that the industry is facing such as cultural shift, regulatory compliance and customer retention to name a few. Her goal as a board member for Securityplus is to empower change through communication and understanding of a diverse community needs, so that this financial institution will become stronger for future generations. A bank for all people in mind.
 
Richard A. Ramson
Richard A. Ramson Richard A. Ramson is seeking first term on the Securityplus Board of Directors as a full fledge Director. He currently serves as an Associate Director at Securityplus. Richard works as an Information Technology Project Manager in the Internal Revenue Services' (IRS) Enterprise Services division. From July 2014 to December 2019, he worked as a Database Administrator and Lead Information Specialist in the Division of Database Services for the Social Security Administration (SSA), overseeing employees and contractors administering 70+ application/database projects for SSA's complex and interrelated Programmatic and Management Information databases in a multiple platform environment. Prior to joining the SSA, Richard worked as Database Administrator for Genesis Healthcare in Kennett Square, PA. Richard graduated from Wilmington University, receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Systems Management. In addition, he received a Master's of Business Administration degree with a Management Information Systems concentration also from Wilmington University. Richard's past board experience includes serving as an Associate Board Director at Securityplus since July 2020. He has been Securityplus member since 2015.
 
C. Natasha Richburg
C.  Natasha Richburg C. Natasha Richburg has been married to her husband Melvin for 38 years and has four adult children. Richburg's professional accomplishments include over 31 years Federal government employment that includes over 15 years as a CMS Information Technology (IT) Executive. The IT projects Mrs. Richburg managed encompassed IT Hardware. Software and Services in support of the agency's infrastructure. During her career, Mrs. Richburg has been responsible for the management of agency-wide IT Security; management of the Data Center Contact; implementation of multi-million dollar projects; and management oversight of the agency's multimillion dollar IT budget. Mrs. Richburg's degrees include a: BS, Business Administration, Frostburg State University; MBA, Morgan State University; and MIS, Johns Hopkins University and ABD ( All But Dissertation), Morgan State University, Urban Education Leadership Doctorate program. Mrs. Richburg is currently an Adjunct Instructor for the Information Systems Department, at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and has maintained that position for over 25 years. She has been a Securityplus member since 1990.
 
Ronald Thompson
Ronald   Thompson Ronald Thompson (Ron) is a Financial Management Specialist at the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) since 2002. He provides financial oversight, budgeting, and monitoring on Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug programs and operations. Prior to joining CMS, Ron performed a number of accounting, auditing, and financial management tasks within the banking and healthcare industries. Ron also served as the Campaign Treasurer for the late United States Congressman, Elijah E. Cummings (1997 - 2019). He performed all accounting and fiduciary duties over the $1,000,000 campaign fund, including IRS tax filings and Federal Election Committee report filings. Ron holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and Bachelor Degree in Finance from Western Michigan University. He is a Certified Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Level III and Certified Federal Acquisition Certification Program/ Project Managers (FAC-P/PM). Ron served as chairman on several fundraising committees for the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, Pi Omega Chapter in Baltimore (1989 - Present), and the International Fraternity, Vice Chairman of the Budget Committee (2015 - Present). Ron also served as President and Secretary on the Pi Omega Foundation, Inc, a 501 (c) (3) organization (2006 - 2011). He provided leadership in developing a 5-year strategic plan and several fundraising activities in support of the foundation's community outreach programs and developed operating procedures. By serving on the board, Ron seeks to effectively collaborate with board members to achieve the Securityplus mission, vision, and goals.
